They tell us
In Sémur-en-Auxois in Burgundy hosted the last big OSCAR in 2019. We parted to meet again in Wrocław/Poland in 2020. But then OSCAR 2020 had to be cancelled. Now it's 2022 and things are finally starting to come back to normal.
This year's OSCAR was organized by the French section of Lille by Sylvie Henry and her team. It took place at the Madame Vacances resort at the ValJoly reservoir near Eppe-Sauvage in the Ardennes, 2 km distant from the Belgian border. Monday 27th June 2022: 85 participants arrived during the afternoon: 48 from France, 33 from Germany, 2 from Great Britain and 2 from Switzerland.
The first jumeleurs arrived in heavy rain, but fortunately the weather improved.
During the period 9th to 13th June, twinners of the association of Bourges and their President Michel MANIGAULT hosted their German friends from Bonn: Peter BACKES - President of Eurojumelages, Helga KROLL - correspondent of Bonn and members; twinners from Châlons-en-Champagne accompanied by Pierrette LUROT, their President, were also invited. Michel MOREL, President of the National Union and his wife Chantal honoured us with their presence.
During these 3 days, the group visited the city of Bourges, its cathedral, the Palais Jacques Coeur, the old town, its gardens and its marshes.
The foundation of Eurojumelages Romania dates back to 1991.
Due to Corona, however, the 30th anniversary of the foundation could not be celebrated in 2021 and had to be postponed by one year. Thus, the President of the Bucharest Section, Camelia Bitea, issued an invitation to all Jumeleurs to participate in a friendship week in Romania from 15th to 21st May 2022 to "belatedly celebrate" the 30th anniversary.
Camelia and her team prepared a very interesting cultural programme for their guests.
Spanish course in Benidorm
Province of Alicante, Community of Valencia
7 to 11th November, 2021
We begin this report with the genesis of the adventure and the much desired initiative of Antonia from Valencia Jumelages, inviting us to this Spanish course. Obliged to abandon the reunion planned in Murcia in 2020 as a consequence of the health issues of our dear and very devoted organiser, Camilo, and also due to this damned pandemic together with lockdown, our disappointment was enormous. I take this opportunity to pass on our best regards to Camilo who has led us for so long on the roads to the discovery of Spain, its language, patrimony and traditions. Thank you Camilo. We think of you a lot. I am not forgetting Maria Louisa and her Madrid team’s investment who concocted gatherings that remain vivid in our memories. I, we, are deeply grateful to them. Antonia picked up the flickering flame of our exchanges. We appreciate her dedication and we express our most sincere friendship. As soon as the offer was published hope was rekindled and the inscriptions flowed in.
