Check-in
Dinner at the hotel or other restaurant.

Thursday – 12.10.23

Breakfast at the hotel
09:00 Departure from the hotel for the City Tour with lunch, visit to Monte and Eira do
Serrado.
We start the circuit by visiting the city of Funchal, visiting the most interesting points. Take advantage to know the Market, where there are all the regional products of the island of Madeira, for example, the beautiful flowers of the island, the abundance of exotic fruit and the fish market.
Afterwards, the visit continues to the Embroidery Workshop, where you can see the manufacture of all embroideries, as well as all different stages of production.
Our visit continues and you are invited to visit the Madeira Wine Cellars and, at the same time, you can taste the quality of this wine!
After this tasting you have lunch with drinks included in a local restaurant.
After dinner we will experience a wonderful and unique experience: we will take the cable car to Monte. From the cable car, it seems that we are flying over the city with the buildings standing alongside gardens and vegetable gardens. We can also admire the amphitheater and the bay of Funchal in a scenario of blue, green and orange colours.
We arrive at Monte, a small perched village which is also a place of pilgrimage where you will have the opportunity to visit the Church of Our Lady dedicated to the patroness of Madeira and sheltering the tomb of the last Austro-Hungarian emperor, Charles 1st of Austria who died in Madeira in 1922. In Monte we can also see one of the oldest ways of transport: the famous wicker sled (optional – not included in the price).
The tour continues towards Eira do Serrado, dominating the crater at the bottom of which nestles the picturesque village of Curral das Freiras (refuge of the nuns).
Return to the hotel.
20.00 Dinner at the club of CDCR Funchal

Friday – 13.10.23
Breakfast at the hotel
09:00 Departure from the hotel for the Porto Moniz tour with lunch at Cachalote Restaurant.
Among other beautiful attractions, this tour gives you the opportunity to see the most beautiful view, thanks to which Madeira acquired its reputation. With a short trip to the picturesque town of Câmara de Lobos, where Sir Winston Churchill spent his mornings painting while staying here, you continue to Cabo Girão, one of the highest sea cliffs in the world.
After you arrive at Ribeira Brava on the south side of the island, a village right by the sea. Continuing along the side, you arrive at Ponta do Sol, where the sun shines all the time. After the road continues towards the plateau of Paúl da Serra, a vast uninhabited area located at 1600 meters above sea-level. Then, carved into the lava and sprinkled with waterfalls the road brings us to Porto
Moniz, a village famous for its natural volcanic pools.
13.00 Lunch at Cachalote Restaurant – we eat whilst being offered a fantastic view of the Atlantic ocean.
After lunch we visit one of the most picturesque villages of the island: São Vicente where you can admire the amazing scenery of the sea against the rocks. We return to Funchal, via Encumeada.
