2024: CA in Foz do Arelho (Portugal) - Guest program

The Eurojumelages Management Board meeting took place in Foz do Arelho from 10 to 44 April 2023.

Wednesday: the arrivals followed one another with a well-organised welcome at the airport, according to the times announced.
Thursday: departure in convoy at 10am. Three CDCR cars with qualified drivers are at our disposal: Joâo Campos, Duarte Mateus and John Saliba..

Dès nos retrouvailles, nous immortalisons du bonheur, même le soleil est de la partie.

First stop about five kilometres away for a panoramic view of the ocean and a group photo. Since we have met again, we immortalize happiness, even the sun is there. Arrival in Obidos at around 11am. A very popular tourist destination, with its local craftsmen, ramparts and aqueduct, not forgetting the local Ginjinha liqueur.
Lunch in Nazaré Nazaré: visit to the viewpoint, typical shops, church of Our Lady of Nazaré. End around 4:15pm .

Fatima : A long-awaited afternoon at the religious site. Two hours of free time, where each person visits according to his or her own itinerary.

On the way back, a surprise stop at a barbecue restaurant, where the evening drags on because of the Benfica-Marseille football match.
Back to the hotel around 10pm, where we all just want to..... get back to bed.

Friday
Group split in two: the tourists and the delegates hard at work..

For us, direction Péniche. Joâo, our driver, drops us off at Cap de Carvoeiro near the lighthouse, facing the dizzying expanse of the ocean. Half an hour of dreaming, then on to the town, the beach and the Baleal site, where a huge number of surfers keep the place lively. Back to the hotel for lunch, where the conference participants also have a break .
Free afternoon …

At around 6pm, the members of the Board of Directors emerged from their conclave. Peter and John orchestrated the debates: they cogitated, discussed,
exchanged opinions and made decisions throughout the day. Everyone seemed satisfied, and to round off the evening, a traditional meal was served at Tornada,
with a guaranteed atmosphere..
So return by night... the moon and the lights twinkling in the distance invite us to look forward to the next day....

Already Saturday! As we leave the hotel, the same sunny landscape wishes us a good day. Off to the Bathala monastery: The imposing structure of the monument welcomes us, already filled with wonder even before we discover the interior of the building. Two hours later, we had lunch in Alcobaça. We then visited the Alcobaça monastery. An early return to the hotel, where everyone is preparing for the lively and typical closing evening from 7pm .
After a word from the Chairman and the organising team, a group of dancers from CDCR Porto in colourful costumes will enchant us with Portuguese dances, and then we'll share a final meal together..
Departures staggered and organized as on arrival. Everyone takes a wealth of images, memories and friendship in his luggage. .

See you next year in Katowice during the spring, normally in April.
