Indian festival in Boal (Asturias)
The Indianos are the Spaniards (Asturians and Cantabrians) who emigrated to America between the 19th and early 20th centuries and later returned to Spain with great fortunes.
In Boal, the birthplace of my parents, a festival is held to commemorate the arrival of some of the Indianos born in this village. On their return, they invested part of their fortune in improving and modernising the infrastructure of their villages. They also built luxurious homes, owned top-of-the-range cars and sported luxurious dressing rooms.
